Safe Environment Training on October 20th 2019 – Registration Information
Dear Parishioner,
It is a diocesan requirement that ALL ADULTS (18 and above) participate in a Safe Environment awareness training called ‘Protecting God’s Children for Adults'(PGC). If you interact with minors, this is an absolute requirement, even if your interaction is very minimal. A certificate of completion is required before anyone can volunteer in our church.
The next training session at our parish will take place on Sunday, October 20th, 2019 at 1:15 P.M. It is expected to be last about three hours. You must register for the session online to receive the certificate; the registration information is given below.
(i) Go to https://www.virtus.org
(ii) Click Registration
(iii) Click “Begin the registration process”
(iv) Under “Select your organization,” select St. Thomas Syro Malabar Catholic Chicago (Diocese).
You will have to create a username and password, and the rest of the registration process is straightforward. You can also see a list of training sessions offered at various parishes. Our session is listed under “Halethrope, MD (Halethrope)” and select the training session “Protecting God’s Children for Adults”. Please register for the session as soon as possible.
