St. Alphonsa Syro-Malabar Church : Feast of Deneha

St. Alphonsa SyroMalabar Catholic Church Baltimore

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

The Syro-Malabar Church celebrates the Feast of Deneha or the Feast of Epiphany (Baptism of our Lord) on Monday, January 6th. This is a day of obligation for Syro-Malabar Catholics. Our parish will commemorate Deneha with Adoration at 6:30 p.m. and Holy Qurbana at 7:00 PM.

The Feast is celebrated to commemorate the Baptism of our Lord and through that His public manifestation to the world by God the Father as His Beloved Son. The Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus in the form of a dove. Thus the three Persons of the Holy Trinity were manifested on that occasion. The feast is also called among the Syro-Malbareese as Pindiperunnal or Rakkuliperunal.

I request you to attend the adoration and Holy Qurbana devotedly.
Love and Prayers,
Wilson Achan
