Saint Alphonsa Women’s Forum is a ministry of the Saint Alphonsa Syro-Malabar Catholic Mission of Baltimore, established by the diocese of Chicago. As a Catholic group, the forum brings women together to discover their God-given dignity and to understand their role in Christian families. Since its inception in September 2013, the group now has 28 registered members, entirely made up of women volunteers of all ages from the parish of Syro Malabar Catholic Church of Baltimore.
Saint Alphonsa Women’s Forum is a community devoted to enhancing and valuing personal, spiritual, and educational growth in women, while energizing them to exemplify the Christian ideal in home and family life. Mother Mary is our role model.
Our goal is to utilize the strength and unique talents of our members to:
· To help women to be a presence in our parish and community
· Uphold and defend Christian faith and values in the modern world
· Convene health and wellness activities
· Contribute to the understanding and growth of our church
Saint Alphonsa Women’s Forum works to create a venue for all women to actively participate in the different cultural and spiritual activities of the church. We gather monthly to share ideas, thereby fostering friendships and providing an informal support group. Our Rosary via phone is an excellent way to keep families united in Christian faith.
Inspiration from our Vicar, Bishop and the Pope, we draw a deep passion to involve and support the church activities. We are women of action, with active participation in church activities like retreat, fund raiser, charity events, picnic, perunaal (feast day of our patron saint), Christmas programs, etc. Participation ranges from organizing Sunday mass celebration to cultural program event coordination and church decoration.
We thank God for giving us a forum to meet, to pray and to grow together in God’s love.
