SAFE Environment Training: Registration Information
Dear Parishioner,
It is a diocesan requirement that ALL ADULTS (18 and above) attend a program on Safe Environment Training for Children, unless you attended one of the training sessions that was previously offered. If you interact with minors, this is an absolute requirement, even if your interaction is very minimal. A certificate of completion is required before you can interact with minors. In particular, if any family is hosting minors for retreats, or for any other parish event, all adults in the family MUST complete the training. If you plan to volunteer at the Vacation Bible School, at retreats involving minors, or in any other ministry that interact with minors, you MUST complete the training before volunteering.
The next training session at our parish will take place on Sunday, October 21, 2018, at 1:30PM. It is expected to last about three hours. You must register for the session online; the registration information is given below.
(iv) Under “Select your organization,” select St. Thomas Syro Malabar Catholic Chicago (Diocese).
You will have to create a username and password, and the rest of the registration process is straightforward. You can also see a list of training sessions offered at various parishes. Our session is listed under “Halethrope, MD (Halethrope)”. Please register for the session as soon as possible. Once again, if you attended one of the previous training sessions, you are not required to attend the forthcoming session on October 21st.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact either of the following people.
