St. Alphonsa Syro-Malabar Church : Wishing you a very Merry Christmas

At this sacred time of the year, I wish to extend you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas. On that first Christmas, we hear the angelic song: Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace on whom his favor rest. God the Father had given us the greatest gift of all – Jesus Christ. Every Christmas we celebrate this gift of love to a fallen but redeemed human race. Christmas is a day for us to thank God’s gift – His merciful love. 

We must not let Christmas just be a passing day. Love one another, forgive others – Live in the spirit of Christmas each day. Reflect upon how to better treasure the gift of Christmas each day by making prayer a critical part of your day, by continuing to read Sacred Scripture and the teachings of Catholic Church, by having a stronger devotion to the Holy Eucharist and the Holy Qurbana, by regularly making a self-examination of conscience and going to the Sacrament of Confession, and doing those good works for those in need.
 
Lastly as your Vicar, I treasure the gift of you and the dedication, sacrifices, and hard work you have shown to make the St. Alphonsa Parish a beacon of friendships and love. Please be assured of my prayers for your intentions and a remembrance at Holy Qurbana today. May the peace, joy, and love of the Holy Family be present in your lives each day!
